Tronox to Expand Following Bankruptcy Reorganization
Tronox Pigments GmbH has announced plans to invest millions to expand its business into new market segments. This is very positive news for the company, which filed for bankruptcy in March of 2009. Tronox successfully reorganized under bankruptcy and posted a turnover of around 120 million Euro for 2009. The company currently employs around 550 people, and has added personnel to meet demand and keep its production facility running at capacity. Tronox produces titanium dioxide, which imparts color and opacity to paints and coatings, plastics and laminates, and is also used in catalysts, electronics, foods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics among other applications. The company has also announced intentions to sell the business at some point this year.
