Axalta Coating Systems has announced a partnership with Stroud Water Research Center. Axalta notes that this move is consistent with its aim of reducing its environmental footprint and that of its customers. The agreement follows the recent release of the company’s Sustainablity Report and the launch of its Sustainable Star customer awards program.
According to Stroud, its mission is to advance the knowledge and stewardship of freshwater systems through global research, environmental education, and watershed restoration. The partnership unites two organizations that have a similar philosophy and support of sustainable initiatives.
“Sustainability is central to virtually everything we do as a coatings company,” said Mike Carr, Axalta president-North America. “We believe Stroud is leading the way in freshwater research and Axalta is leading by example. I am confident that we will each continue to advance in our respective research areas and continue to enlighten others.”
Axalta and Stroud plan to present a collaborative education program that consists of the Science Seminar Series: Delaware River Watershed Initiative; a joint educational program for students that includes a hands-on component that highlights science and technology; and a lecture during The Water’s Edge gala in Kennett Square, Pa., the companies stated.
