As of Oct. 1, BASF will change its European direct business for Ultraform® (POM) and transfer the sales process to its longstanding trading partners, ALBIS and Ultrapolymers Group.

Ultraform® is BASF’s polyoxymethylene range, which includes engineering plastics designed for heavy-duty components. According to BASF, this product range is suitable for applications in vehicle construction, medical technology, plant and mechanical engineering and more.

In other BASF news, the company held the official opening of the Technology Competence Center on June 14 at the facilities of BASF Española in Marchamalo (Guadalajara). This 14-million-Euro technology center is designed to research and replicate the painting process of any vehicle manufacturer. The center provides services to more than 100 automotive factories in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, including manufacturers of plastic parts for the same industry.

With an area of 310,000 square meters and approximately 550 employees, the center has three production plants, two of which are paint plants and one to produce intermediate resins.
