Arkema Starts Expansion in China

Arkema has begun production of Sartomer® specialty UV/LED curing resins at its expanded facility in Nansha, China, where it invested to double capacity. According to Arkema, this investment is intended to support development of more sustainable solutions for growing applications in Asian markets, such as solutions in electronics — driven by 5G technology — and in renewable energies. EPA Seeks Stakeholder Input Related to Vessel Incidental Discharge Act

On Oct. 18, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking to the Vessel Incidental Discharge Act (VIDA). In 2020, the agency proposed national standards of performance for marine pollution control devices for discharges incidental to the normal operation of non-military and non-recreational vessels 79+ feet in length into U.S. waters. This supplemental notice proposes additional regulatory options that EPA is considering for discharges from ballast tanks, hulls and niche areas, and graywater systems. Read More…

Tesa Opens New Site in Vietnam

Tesa, an international manufacturer of adhesive tapes and self-adhesive solutions, has opened its new site in the Vietnamese port city of Haiphong. The new site is part of tesa's strategic orientation to regionalize production. Tesa states the new site is approximately 70,000 meters and has a production capacity of 40 million square meters of adhesive tape per year and, in its first phase, will employ about 130 employees, complementing the existing production site in Suzhou, China, which opened in 2005.
