The 50th annual International Waterborne, High-Solids and Powder Coatings Symposium will take place in New Orleans from February 12 through 17. The Waterborne Symposium includes short courses, an expert panel session, the Technology Showcase exhibit hall, and an interactive student poster session, which are all held on different days during that week.

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) recently announced the speakers for the symposium, including the three highlighted lecturers. Plenary speaker Juliane Santos will present on “Sustainability Guiding New Developments in the Coating Industry;” Matthew Gadman will give the Sydney Lauren Memorial Lecture on “Formulating Long-Lasting and Durable Aminoplast and NCO Crosslinked WB Coatings: Importance of Backbone Composition;” and Michael Dvorchak will deliver the keynote lecture on “3D Printed Drag Reducing Riblets (Shark Skin bio-mimicking) that are 1K UV curable coatings utilizing Allophanate Structures.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with coatings industry professionals, experts, scientists, students, academics, end users, and management and marketing executives.

The symposium was founded to serve as a place for those in the coatings industry to share knowledge, collaborate, network, and learn. Also, proceeds from the event help fund student scholarships at USM.
