Cyclic Materials and Solvay Sign Agreement

Cyclic Materials, a metals recycling company, and Solvay, a rare earth materials supplier, have signed an agreement where Cyclic Materials will supply Solvay’s plant in La Rochelle, France recycled mixed rare earth oxide (rMREO) for further separation and purification from its new Hub100 facility in Ontario, Canada. Wacker Chemie Opens New HQ in Munich

Wacker Chemie AG opened its new corporate headquarters in Munich. The roughly 18,000-square-meter building in Munich’s Werksviertel District was designed by Danish architecture firm C.F. Møller reportedly using the latest in sustainable building technology. The office offers a flexible working environment for approximately 600 employees on five floors. Trinseo Completes Solar Panel Installation at Finland Facility

Trinseo completed a solar panel installation of 1,800 solar panel modules at its latex binders manufacturing facility in Hamina, Finland. Working with Finnish electricity supplier Helen Oy, the new solar panels are expected to offset approximately 20% of the site’s power consumption. Trinseo says that the initiative supports the company’s climate change goal to increase its share of electricity from non-fossil sources from 5% to 30% by 2030. Read More…

IMCD Opens New Laboratory in North America

IMCD, a distributor, formulator and provider of specialty chemicals and ingredients has relocated and opened its new IMCD Coatings and Construction Laboratory in Philadelphia, Penn., one of company’s 14 laboratories. The new 6,400 sq. ft. laboratory expands the company’s technical capabilities to now include construction, in addition to its existing capabilities for industrial coatings, decorative paints, and adhesives.
